Welcome

For the 800 families in the rural village of El Aguacate, Guatemala, life is difficult. Homes resemble shacks. There is no running water. Streets are filled with trash and raw sewage. With no reliable healthcare, sickness is common. But for the girls here, life is even harder.

That’s because the average family has eight kids. Girls are kept home from school to tend to siblings. And if they can attend, there is often no space for them, as boys are pushed to the front of the line.

For many of these girls, physical and sexual abuse is a way of life. Many marry before even 16, perpetuating the cycle of poverty.

Today these girls are without hope, and they lack access to education to ensure tomorrow will be different. But your support of the Growing Hope capital campaign will begin to break this cycle. By raising $475,000, we will build Hope Academy, a bilingual boarding school on property used as an avocado farm.

From this suffering soil, new life will spring.
