Welcome

Dear People of St. John’s,

Today we are inviting you to create a legacy of love, to feed and sustain our young and vibrant congregation, and to build a place of worship and service that will last long into the future.

Please consider a gift to our Legacy of Love capital campaign. Generations of parishioners and friends have cared for our buildings and grounds, and we continue that work. A new kitchen is needed to continue our ministry of hospitality. Our sanctuary and parish hall are now accessible; we want to complete that welcome with accessibility to the rest of the church building. Our worship space and beautiful windows draw new people to us and feed our souls; we want to preserve that beauty. We have been working to acknowledge our responsibility for the earth; we want to build a more sustainable future.

This campaign was originally planned for the fall of 2020. The pandemic postponed our plans, but it did not postpone the work of God through the people of St. John’s. We continued to celebrate God’s gifts through worship, prayer, and welcome. We were nurtured and transformed, and we continued to respond to the needs of the world. Now, with confidence we look to the future and respond in faith.

You call us your people and gather us in love to celebrate your gifts. Guide us as we expand this community of welcome and hospitality. Nurture us with love and forgiveness and transform us with the power of your mercy. Guide us as we work to build and sustain this place for ourselves and for generations to come. Send us out to respond to the needs of the world, strengthend and fed. Your reign of love makes all things new: Plant seeds of confidence and gladness in our hearts so that, trusting in your word, we may live no longer for ourselves but for him who died and was raised for us, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
