Welcome

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

We, the members of St. Paul’s Church, are members of the household of God, built upon a foundation of apostles and prophets and believers before us. We are blessed to be a blessing to others. We bless others by offering a place for those dealing with addiction, a place to prepare children for their future education, a place to grow vegetables, and collect food and other items for those outside our family, and a place to share with other believers in Christ from other cultures.

In Christ we are called to join together past, present and future and grow a holy temple in the Lord. The efforts of earlier generations blessed us with this beautiful building, combining memories of the past with contemporary designs and providing an acoustically rewarding place for glorious worship. We share in that blessing and the blessing of God each time we gather in this place to worship Him, to learn His plan for us and to grow in the knowledge of love of God and His Son as we are empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Now, it is time for us to respond to the blessings given to us by those who were here before us. It is time to respond to the blessings that are found in this place: love, community and service, restoring and renewing this place where we find our own spiritual renewal. It is time to share those blessings with others who have yet to experience the fellowship of believers and the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Rebuild, Restore, Renew capital campaign is our opportunity to join together, with Christ as the cornerstone, and grow a holy temple in the Lord.

May this place, this holy space, continue to nurture and restore others in this generation and in the generations to come.

The Rev. J. Nixon McMillan, Rector

Campaign Prayer

O God, you have been our cornerstone, chosen and precious, from the beginning. You led our pilgrim community to build this our fourth church, a place of worship, beauty, and community, where the children of the poor are given an advantage, and where other churches have found a home. Jesus, Living Stone, grant us a spirit of generosity and sacrifice for our capital campaign, so that our church will be renewed for ministry, and we may be built into a spiritual house of living stones, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
