The Need

Three Houses become One Home

Since its construction over a century ago, our parish has flourished, declined, and bloomed again. Our members take pride in St. John’s traditional worship, thoughtful theology, and in living out our mission to serve in faith. In the most recent decades, St. John’s has become known across Mt. Pleasant for its support of the community.

Our outreach ministry is active and diverse, and we often go about our work in a haphazard, makeshift manner—exposed to the elements as we dodge between three buildings, making do in an outdated, not-to-code kitchen, and dealing with too frequent space and scheduling challenges.

Now, with this campaign, we have a solution: restoration of the historic rectory combined with new construction that will link St. John’s three buildings—putting all our ministries under one roof, and offering new, flexible spaces that will grow with our congregation and ministries.

One Home under One Roof
Our creative design for a unified structure shifts the rectory westward and adds interior spaces that link both levels of the church to the rectory offices, as well as the church to the parish hall. We will create ample space for worship, music, outreach and administration—all under one roof for a truly united spiritual space!
