The Need

Through the Creating Meaningful Connections capital campaign, we reaffirm our commitment to our community and to one another by making St. Mark’s more accessible and by enhancing our outreach through the Hospitality Center for the Homeless. Please give all that you are able.

WELCOMING ACCESS

Ease of access for members of our congregation and the wider community is essential to our being a welcoming place for all of God’s beloved children. The new stairwell lift between the parlor and sanctuary will have a greater weight capacity in order to accommodate electric wheelchairs, while the new elevator will improve reliability, reduce the overall cost of operation, and increase access to our choir room, upstairs restrooms and Cunningham Hall. Needed: $140,000

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Interfaith Action of Evanston’s Hospitality Center for the Homeless—housed at St. Mark’s—has long been an example of our commitment to serve the needs of those in our community. Guests of the center will benefit from a reconfigured space that includes renovated men’s and women’s restrooms, a gender-neutral handicap accessible restroom, an improved area for job coaching and computer training, and storage. It will also mean that Cunningham Hall guests will have access to convenient and modern restroom facilities. Needed: $240,000

The above projects add up to $380,000. Funds raised beyond this will be used to reimburse the diocese for our capital campaign costs and for renovations to Cunningham Hall’s kitchen.
