The Need

The Cornerstone Campaign will enable us to strengthen the physical fabric of St. John’s, preserving our buildings for the next hundred years.

Through trying times which challenged in-person worship, we learned that our spiritual community transcends brick and mortar. Yet, this time has also reminded us just how much our church building means to our congregation. Our physical structure remains our spiritual home—an inspiring place of prayer, gathering, and divine encounter. It has always been and will continue to be a place of connection, ministry, and celebration of our life together.

The Cornerstone Campaign is our opportunity to be good stewards of this century-old structure.
Ultimately, this is a campaign of hope, positioning us to serve our Lord in ways that we cannot begin to imagine.

STRUCTURE
Our first priority is to maintain the structural integrity of our church. Through your generosity, we will restore and preserve our beautiful stained-glass windows. We will address roofing and masonry needs as well as provide electrical and systems upgrades to provide safe and capable infrastructure for years to come.

WORSHIP SPACE
With our structure strengthened, we move to the quality of the worship experience. Through the campaign, we will install better lighting and new carpeting and we will refinish the floors and install air conditioning. These projects will enhance the beauty of our sanctuary and create a more welcoming space. We will also repaint the interior (which hasn’t happened in
over 40 years!).

DRIVEWAY
Widening the church driveway is a safety concern, and ease of access is especially important when holding large events. Your generosity will make this possible.

While we are excited about taking care of immediate building needs now, any funds raised beyond our goal will be reserved to address our dream projects for new interior spaces—entryway, classrooms, choir, kitchen, etc.
