Welcome

The Cathedral Church of St. Luke began in 1868 when two families started meeting at the Lake Pineloch home of Francis Eppes, the grandson of Thomas Jefferson. At the dawn of the 20th century, Bishop William Crane Gray called the Cathedral to a high vision of "manifold work and energy, reaching out in every direction..."

Over time, God blessed the vision of Eppes and Gray and inspired the Cathedral and its people, leading to the construction of our majestic nave in 1925-26 and its completion in 1987. As we approach the nave's 100th anniversary in 2026, we seek to preserve its grandeur and together build on our rich history.

Campaign Prayer

LIGHT
O Lord our God, because it is in your light that we see light, we give thanks for the light of the knowledge of your glory in the face of Jesus Christ; we pray that, by the Spirit who gives liberty, the light of Christ will continually shine into and through this Cathedral. AMEN.

LEGACY
Holy and Gracious Father, you show faithfulness from one generation to another; we give thanks to you for those who have gone before us, and we dedicate ourselves to passing on their legacy of prayer and generosity to generations yet to come; that when in the fullness of time you put all things in subjection under your Christ, we may rejoice together with them in the everlasting heritage of your sons and daughters. AMEN.

LOVE
Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. AMEN.
