Welcome

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I am excited and privileged to lead our parish through the Imagining-Transforming-Realizing Capital Campaign—to live into our potential as a vital and essential member of the Point Loma neighborhood.

Through our prayers, we have discerned our call to be “the” hub in the community. This campaign will allow us to realize our dream. Together, we will transform our campus and, God willing, transform ourselves to be the church God dreams for us to be: to share God’s love, openly, freely, and generously with the world.

We will welcome our neighbors. We will offer a safe, spiritual, friendly destination for all people. We will open our campus for celebrations and community events. People will come and meet the transformative love of God.

I am grateful for your prayers and support for this endeavor. May God bless our work, and may our mission and ministries be enhanced.

Yours in Christ,

The Rev. Joseph Dirbas
Rector, All Souls’ Episcopal Church

Campaign Prayer

Gracious God, as we begin this essential work of renewing and restoring the buildings and grounds of our Parish church, we offer our thanks for the wisdom, passion and dedication of our leaders, the faithfulness and generosity of congregations past and present, the fellowship and hospitality that All Souls’ so abundantly provides and, most of all, for your abiding presence.

We pray that as we continue the process of imagining together the future of All Souls’ that we allow your Spirit to move amongst us, creating vision and enthusiasm, helping us to see how renewal of our buildings and grounds can also renew and expand our mission in our Parish. Help us, we pray, to make All Souls’ a place of sanctuary not only for our congregation but also for our neighbors; a place where music and art, preaching and conversation invite people to come for respite, learning, and awakening; a place where all are welcome.

Help us Lord to find the courage to do what you ask:
generously to use the gifts we have received to carry on the work begun generations ago while embracing the needs of our 21st century community. May we walk together in love as Christ loved us and sacrificed himself for us.
AMEN
